WALTER JAMES LACROIX Peacefully, with family at his side, on Monday, May 2, 2005 at the Portage District General Hospital, Walter James Lacroix of Portage la Prairie, passed away at the age of 86 years. Prayers will be held in the chapel of the Omega Funeral Home, Portage la Prairie, on Friday evening (May 6) at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Bill Parrack officiating. Funeral service will be held in the chapel of the Omega Funeral Home, Portage la Prairie on Saturday, May 7 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Michael Wollbaum officiating. The service will terminate at the chapel followed by cremation. Interment of the cremated remains will take place in the family plot at Hillside Cemetery on Saturday, May 7 at 4:30 p.m. Predeceased by his parents; brothers, Wilfred in infancy and Floyd in 1966; three sisters, Annie Allarie, Violet MacDonald and Beatrice Heppner, he leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Lucille; his sons, Lucien and Marlene of Victoria, BC, Gene and Janet, Marc and Athena, all of Poplar Point; two daughters, Marilyn and Joe Mulligan of Brandon, Evelyn Peters of Portage, 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Dahlia Braden of Winnipeg, Yvonne Croom of Portage; one aunt, Cora McEachern of Winnipeg and several nieces and nephews.
